
ViSCO's Contact Image Sensor (CIS) captures large workpieces as a single image.
While operating on a principle similar to a line scan camera, the contact-type sensor with a rod lens array produces images with minimal distortion.
Even for large targets that suffer from edge blur or require image stitching with area cameras, the CIS captures a clear single image.
Unlike conventional line scan cameras, no focus adjustment or specialized expertise is required.
Focus and lighting are pre-adjusted in a simple unit, eliminating the need for fine tuning.
The contact design minimizes the working distance.
The installation footprint is kept compact.



A rod lens array consists of multiple lenses arranged in a single row.
Because the sensor and lenses are in contact, aberrations between the center and edges--common in area and line cameras--do not occur, enabling uniform, distortion-free images.

CIS completes imaging in a single capture.
Area cameras require multiple captures, and inspection cannot be performed without image stitching.

The working distance (between the lens and object) is fixed, eliminating the need for focus adjustment.
The integrated light source comes with preset lighting positions, allowing imaging simply by mounting it to the system.
Because the object and lens unit are nearly in contact, the entire inspection system remains compact.
