The VTV-9000 series allows you to perform an inspection of the contoured portions of an object for inspection by using the “Multi-contour shape inspection” tool. The contoured portions can be selected and a mask image can be created, so this tool can also be used for defect inspections. Because it comes with multi-coordinates, multiple inspections can easily be set.

The model training function trains contoured portions of non-defective products and compares them with the object of inspection. The contour features are not dots, but rather lines obtained by calculating using the least squares method.

The extracted contour portion can be output as a mask image. Either the inside or outside of the contour can be selected as the masked portion. The mask differs from normal masks in that each time it is executed it is a dynamic mask which performs contour extraction. It is possible to perform not just mask image inspections, but also contoured portion inspections such as perimeter and defect area inspections at the same time.
